The Xunta de Galicia, through the City of Culture Foundation, and the Paideia Galiza Foundation organise the international Carta de Santiago forum within the framework of the programming for Xacobeo 21-22 with the aim of placing Santiago de Compostela as a space for reflection and dialogue to face the future challenges of 21stcentury society.
The celebration of this biannual Holy Year provides the opportunity for Galicia to become the setting for a project that was created with the vocation to respond to the global challenges facing society after a health crisis with a major social and economic impact.
Santiago de Compostela, Capital of Galicia, destination of the Camino de Santiago and World Heritage City, presents itself as the appropriate framework to promote these dialogues, as it embodies the Jacobean values of welcome, tolerance and harmony in its history.
Thus, Carta de Santiago will take place in the spaces of the City of Culture of Galicia. This powerful infrastructure – an architectural icon of contemporary Galicia – operates in the fields of culture, technology, entrepreneurship and the environment, promoting innovative projects aimed at the cultural, social and economic development of the Galician community.
The Xunta de Galicia and the City of Culture Foundation have the collaboration of the Paideia Galiza Foundation. Based in A Coruña, this private non-profit institution’s mission is to promote equal opportunities and encourage personal and social development through the creation of innovative and sustainable projects. It currently focuses its activity on the following areas of work: disability and employment, youth and mobility, entrepreneurship, territorial development, and training and dissemination.
